Orders & Delivery

When will my order arrive?

Enter your country and postcode at checkout to see the delivery estimate before you pay. Once the parcel leaves the warehouse, the tracking link is the best place to check the current delivery date.

How much does shipping cost?

The shipping cost is shown at checkout before payment. It is calculated from the delivery country and the size of the order.

Where will my order be dispatched from?

Orders are dispatched from one of our partner warehouses in Northern Italy. The exact warehouse depends on where the filter is in stock.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. We send the tracking link automatically by email after the carrier collects your parcel.

Can I order more than one filter set at a time?

Yes. Many filters come in packs of 1, 2 or 4 complete sets, and you can add any number of packs to your basket.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or something is missing?

Email support@zenaero.it with your order number and clear photos of the parcel, label and contents. We will check it and arrange the missing item, a replacement or a refund.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Contact us straight away. We can change or cancel the order until the warehouse starts processing it. After dispatch, you will need to refuse the parcel or use the returns process.

Returns & Payments

Can I return a filter if it doesn't fit my ventilation unit?

Yes, if it is a standard catalogue filter, unused and undamaged. Contact us within 30 days of delivery. Made-to-measure filters cannot normally be returned unless we made them incorrectly or they are faulty.

How do returns work?

Contact us before sending anything back. We will give you the return reference, address and instructions. Return shipping outside Italy is normally paid by the customer unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong product.

Which payment methods can I use?

You can pay by credit card, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna or bank transfer.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes. Select the invoice option at checkout and enter the billing details. The invoice is issued automatically.

Can I place an order for a business?

Yes. Select Business at checkout and enter the company and VAT details requested. A business invoice is issued automatically.

Finding the Right Filter

How do I find the right filter for my ventilation unit?

Use the exact make and model of the ventilation unit. If you cannot find it, compare the filter's width, height and depth, or send us a clear photo of the unit label and the old filter.

Where can I find the make and model of my ventilation unit?

Look for the product label on the side of the unit or behind the service panel. The same information is usually printed on the manual.

How can I check that a filter is compatible with my unit?

First match the ventilation-unit model. Then compare the width, height and depth with the old filter. A ruler can easily be 1–2 mm out, especially when a soft gasket has been compressed.

What do the filter dimensions mean?

They are the width, height and depth of the filter. The frame must fit the filter slot closely: too large will not go in, while too small can leave gaps that let dirty air bypass the filter.

Why might the measurements of my old filter be slightly different?

A manufacturing tolerance of about 1 mm is normal. The old frame may also be slightly bent and a gasket may be compressed. Measure the rigid frame and note whether the gasket is included.

Will a difference of a few millimetres mean the filter won't fit?

For a rigid frame, a few millimetres can be enough to cause a problem. A soft gasket may absorb a small difference, but do not guess—send us the model and measurements before ordering.

What should I do if my ventilation unit isn't listed in the shop?

Send the make, model and filter dimensions to support@zenaero.it, or use the custom-made filter page. We will check whether a standard filter fits or whether you need a made-to-measure one.

Can you help me choose a filter from photos or measurements?

Yes. Send a clear photo of the unit label, the old filter and the filter slot, plus width × height × depth. That is usually enough for us to check the fit.

Filter Classes & Compatibility

Are these original manufacturer filters or compatible replacements?

They are compatible replacement filters unless the product page clearly says Original. They are made in the EU to the listed dimensions and filtration class, with low airflow resistance for the intended unit.

Can a compatible replacement filter damage my ventilation unit?

Not when the size, class and sealing are correct. Trouble starts with a filter that is too dense, too small, damaged, poorly glued or left clogged for too long: airflow drops, dirt can bypass the frame and the fans work harder.

What's the difference between G4, M5 and F7 filters?

G4 is a coarse filter for insects and larger dust, mainly to protect the unit. M5 catches smaller dust, pollen and many mould spores. F7 catches much more fine city and combustion dust, but it also creates more airflow resistance and usually needs changing sooner.

What's the difference between ePM1, ePM10 and ISO Coarse?

ISO Coarse is for large dust and basic unit protection. ePM10 is the practical step up for pollen, mould spores and road dust. ePM1 is for finer traffic, smoke and combustion particles. A label such as ePM1 60% gives the tested efficiency for that particle group.

Is a higher filtration class always better?

No. A finer filter usually creates more resistance, can reduce airflow, increase noise and make the fans use more power. Fit the highest class approved for your unit, not simply the highest number available.

Can I use an F7 filter instead of an M5 or G4 filter?

Only if the unit manufacturer allows F7 in that position. Do not replace a flat G4 mat or wire-frame filter with dense F7 material: the small filter area can create more pressure drop than the unit is designed for.

Do both filters in my ventilation unit need to be the same class?

No. The supply-air filter is usually finer because it cleans the air coming into the home. The extract-air filter can be coarser because its main job is to protect the unit from indoor dust.

Why do some filter sets contain two different filtration classes?

Because the two filters do different jobs. A finer filter cleans incoming outdoor air; a coarser filter on the extract side protects the heat exchanger without adding unnecessary resistance.

Air Quality & Filtration

Can these filters capture pollen?

Yes. M5/ePM10 and finer filters catch pollen well because pollen grains are relatively large. G4 catches the largest grains, but it is not the best choice when pollen is the main concern.

Can they capture mould spores?

Yes. M5/ePM10 is a useful starting point for mould spores. F7/ePM1 also catches finer airborne particles. The filter only deals with spores in the air stream; it does not remove mould growing inside the building.

Can they help reduce particles linked to outdoor smog?

Yes, if you choose a fine filter. F7, ePM2.5 or ePM1 catches much more PM2.5 and other fine smog particles than G4 or ISO Coarse.

Can these filters reduce odours or smoke?

A particle filter catches soot and smoke particles, but not the gases that make the smell. For odours, use a combined fine-particle and activated-carbon filter.

Does this filter contain activated carbon?

Only if Activated Carbon is stated in the product name or specification. Do not judge by colour alone—some ordinary filter media is black.

What's the difference between an activated carbon filter and a standard particle filter?

A particle filter catches dust, pollen and smoke particles. Activated carbon traps many odour and gas molecules on its surface. A combined filter does both jobs.

Can an activated carbon filter help with outdoor odours and smoke?

Yes. It can reduce traffic, chimney and smoke odours, but the result depends on how strong the pollution is and how much carbon the filter contains. Replace it when odours start coming through again.

Can these filters capture household dust and pet hair?

Yes. G4 or ISO Coarse catches hair and larger household dust. M5/ePM10 or a finer class also catches more of the smaller dust and pet dander floating in the air.

Can better air filtration help reduce airborne particles that often bother people with allergies?

Yes. M5/ePM10 is useful for pollen; F7/ePM1 catches more fine dust as well. Use the finer class only if the unit supports it. A filter reduces airborne particles—it is not a medical treatment.

What can a standard ventilation filter realistically do about bacteria and viruses in the air?

It does not disinfect the air. A fine filter can catch some droplets and aerosols that carry bacteria or viruses, but it cannot sterilise a home or prevent infection on its own.

Installation & Maintenance

How often should I replace the filters?

Start with every 4–6 months, or follow the unit maker's schedule. Check sooner—sometimes after 2–4 months—near busy roads, construction, wood burning, heavy pollen or smoke. A timer is only a reminder; it does not usually measure how dirty the filter is.

How can I tell when it's time to replace a filter?

Look at the filter as well as the timer. Replace it when it is heavily grey or clogged, fresh-air flow drops, the unit becomes louder, or condensation starts appearing because ventilation has fallen.

Can I wash or clean a filter and use it again?

Do not wash it. Pleated, minipleat and pocket filters are single-use. A simple coarse filter mat on a wire frame may be gently vacuumed two or three times if the manual allows it, but fine dust trapped inside the media cannot be cleaned out properly.

What happens if I leave a filter in for too long?

Airflow falls. A basic unit supplies less air; a constant-airflow unit speeds up the fan, becomes noisier and uses more power. If the filter is badly clogged or leaking, dirt can reach the heat exchanger and fan impeller and lead to a costly clean or repair.

Can a new filter reduce airflow or increase my unit's energy use?

A clean filter of the same class should improve airflow. A much finer filter—especially a jump from G4/ISO Coarse to F9/high-efficiency ePM1—can reduce airflow and increase fan power if the unit was not designed for it.

Which side of the filter should face the airflow?

Follow the marking on the filter. An AIRFLOW arrow points in the direction the air travels, normally from the duct towards the heat exchanger. THIS SIDE UP or UP only shows which edge must face upwards.

How do I install the filters in my ventilation unit?

Switch the unit off. Open the cover, note the position and arrows, remove the old filters, vacuum loose dust from the empty slots and insert the new filters without gaps. Close the unit, switch it on and reset the filter timer.

Should I replace both filters at the same time?

It is convenient, but not compulsory. Check both. A polluted outdoor-air or activated-carbon filter may need changing after 2–4 months, while the extract filter can sometimes last up to about 8 months.

Product & Quality

Where are the filters made?

The filters are made in EU factories using tested filter media and controlled production. Check the product page or packaging for the origin of a specific item.

Which standards or filtration classifications do the filters follow?

ISO 16890 is the current main classification: ISO Coarse, ePM10, ePM2.5 and ePM1. G4, M5 and F7 are older EN 779 names that still appear in many ventilation-unit manuals.

Disposal & Storage

How should I dispose of a used filter?

Put the dirty filter straight into a bag so the collected dust does not spread. Wear gloves if it is very dirty. For normal household ventilation, dispose of the sealed bag as residual waste unless your local authority says otherwise.

Can used filters be recycled?

Usually not. The frame, filter media, glue and trapped dirt are mixed together, so household recycling centres normally treat the whole filter as residual waste.

How should I store unused filters?

Keep them sealed, dry and uncrushed, away from sunlight and chemicals. Store above 5°C and below 70% relative humidity, with no condensation.

How long can unopened filters be stored?

We guarantee two years of storage under the stated conditions. An older filter can still be used if the pack is sealed and the frame, gasket and filter media are clean, dry and undamaged.
